For more than 35 years, Scotchman Electric, LLC has proudly powered homes, businesses, and industries across Northeast Ohio. Founded in 1989 by father-and-son team Bob and Scott Russell, the company was built on a foundation of craftsmanship, honesty, and a deep commitment to the community.

Today, that legacy continues with the next generation — Scott’s sons, Sam and Isaac Russell — who bring fresh innovation and leadership while upholding the family’s dedication to quality and service. Our team includes national and state champions in motor control and industrial electrical systems, reflecting the precision and professionalism that define every project we take on. And, of course, our shop dogs Reese and Bullet keep the crew smiling and grounded in good company.

We’re proud to be a locally rooted company that invests in the same community we serve. Scotchman Electric actively supports and participates in local events such as Garrettsville Summerfest, where we help set up and sponsor activities each year. Our crew also installs holiday lighting and decorations at the downtown clocktower and contributes to the festive atmosphere with seasonal electrical displays and décor installations.

SkillsUSA is a nationally recognized program that tests electricians on real world electrical knowledge, safety standards, code compliance, motor control, industrial systems, and problem solving under pressure. Success at this level requires precision, discipline, and a deep understanding of the trade.

Our team’s achievements include regional first place finishes, multiple state level podium placements, and a national gold medal in industrial motor control. These accomplishments reflect hands-on mastery in areas such as construction wiring, industrial motor control, PLC systems, electrical code, print reading, and advanced safety practices including OSHA and arc flash training.

Whether we are completing residential service, commercial installations, or complex industrial systems, our electricians apply the same level of focus, safety awareness, and technical excellence that earned recognition on the national stage.
